First Christmas

We had our Christmas early this year.
Here are some photos from Izzie's first Christmas.
What fun!

There's a lot going on here...and there's a tree with lights on in the house!

Visions of Sugar Plums

I learned a big lesson today about when it is nap time, put Izzie in bed, and she'll probably go to sleep!
Seems so basic, but that eliminated quite a bit of fussing today.  She ate sweet potatoes for lunch...I hope Shout works as well as Kyle says!

Izzie finally made friends with her pink French poodle this afternoon.  Before she would always give it the big lip or broke down and cried at her!  I'll try to remember to take a picture of FiFi next week.  She's not so bad!

Looks like she wants to do the can can.
I only have eyes for you, Mom.

Long Time - No See

It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I last saw Izzie.  Long time.  Colds and trips got in the way.

I laughed by head off today.  I'm doing every crazy thing to get Izzie to smile or laugh, and she looks at me straight-faced and barely tolerant, which makes me laugh harder!  Too funny.  I guess we have different senses of humor.  She did like it when I was whistling Jingle Bells to her.  I think I stay on tune better with whistling than singing.  We also found out today that her talking doggy sneezes.  Izzie has done most of her giggling about little fake sneezes, but couldn't get any giggles today.  Maybe next time.

Izzie played in her jump chair quite a bit today, and is doing a lot more reaching for things now than the last time I saw her.

She had green beans for lunch.  Wasn't too thrilled.

Here are our photos from today.

Playing with her teething ring in the jump chair...
lots of drooling.

In serious thought about her butterfly, which is her favorite toy.  This travels with Izzie when she goes into the cave that is her winter car seat.

Blue eyes and long eye lashes.

This is the look I often get
when I'm all but standing on my head
to try to make her laugh!

The Babies Meet Again

We had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday.
Isabella and Izzie got to meet up again...this time better than before.
Here are a couple of photos of Isabella (7 months) and Izzie (4 months).

When She Was Good, She Was Very, Very Good, But.......

Well, we had some good times today...and some that weren't quite so good.
It was fun, anyway.
Hope your shots don't hurt too much tommorrow, Iz.

One of the good moments.

Lots of chewing and drooling.
Blowing bubbles today, too.

Short Little Visit

I got to spend a little time with Kyle and Izzie while Kenny weed wacked out in the yard and put the lawn furniture away for the winter.  I was missing her, since we didn't have our usual time together on Thursday this week.  Here are some photos of Iz in her jumper chair.

Hypnotized by that flashing thing again.

A penny for your thoughts, Little One.

What big blue eyes you have!
Just keeping an eye on Mom.

November Moods

Our time together today was kind of like November weather.  There were some nice peeks of sunshine and happy times.  Most of the time we were just kind of so so.

I was busy for over an hour trying to put her new jump seat together, and Izzie was pretty content to watch, which was great, because the more difficult that became, the more stubborn I got about conquering that task!
Got it together.  No pix of it today...maybe next time.

Izzie was doing her floor exercises while I was dressing her,
so I was able to get a shot of her face and her sox.
Those Mary Jane sox = cutest thing going for little girls!

I know...another sleeping picture...at least it's not crying!
She just looked so cozy and cute on this November day...
couldn't pass it up.

Personality !

We think Izzie is experiencing some early teething pains.
Lots of drooling and hands in the mouth.
She was even putting her little pink doll in her mouth yesterday.
Definitely different behavior now.

Here are photos of the fun we had
between catnaps and refueling.

Ya, I know I'm cute!

What are we going to do now?
Can I watch more Elmo?

Razzberries to you!

Gotta love it!

Playing Dress Up

Izzie Anne wore three different outfits today.  That was fun, but the reason is...lots of spitting up.
I didn't even get a photo in the second outfit.  That one only lasted about twenty minutes.

Izzie sat in her swing for quite a while today.  Also liked playing with her doll and the talking dog.

Lots of drool and sucking or biting on her hands.  How early can a little one start teething?

We had a fun day.  And the laundry just finished.

In dream land.

Outfit number three!

Talking to the toys.

Hi, Everybody...

Perfect Day for an Outing

I don't have a watch Izzie day this week because of my schedule,
so today I got to go on an outing with Kyle and Izzie.
What a beautiful day it is...sunny and just a little less than 60 degrees.
My idea of just about perfect.

We set off to the Carter store and Books A Million at Westgate.
I took the MetroPark route, and it is beautiful.
Autumn color at about 30 percent.
Bright sunshine.
Beautiful October.

Izzie was amazing.
A few little cries coming from the carseat in the back,
but only when we were stopped for a light.
The instant you start up again, she was quiet.
Now I remember talking about that when my kids were little,
and when my grandkids were little,
but I don't remember it being this pronounced!
This little girl knows what she wants.

The racks in Carter's are tight,
so sometimes it seemed that Izzie - in her stroller -
was lost in a forest of baby girl clothes.
Probably a bigger girl's dream...
I'm not sure what she thought.
Iz was perfect in there.

Rather than load and reload stuff,
Kyle and Izzie walked to BAM
and I drove the car over.
She was just about perfect in there, too,
and we're now 2 hours into our journey.

All was going so well that after a diaper change in the car
we decided to go to lunch...
Izzie's first time going to a restaurant.
Red Lobster was chosen.
Izzie was asleep when we walked in,
slept through our entire meal,
and only woke up as we were getting ready to pay the bill.
Amazing!

She then slept most of the way home...except for the traffic lights...
and had a smile on her face when I left.
Great October outing, Izzie.
What a big girl!

This picture isn't from today,
but after all this writing, I thought I should include a photo.

Mostly Sunny!

The sunshine was back today.  A perfect October day, actually.
Izzie and I went for a walk around the block.
We heard a bird call to us.  I saw a cricket hopping right at my feet.
We saw a dragonfly go by.
Izzie liked our walk...except for when the lawn guy was right
next to us using the trimmer.  Too loud and scary.

When we got back I had her pose on the nice quilt
that Great Aunt Jan made for her.
She wasn't sure what mood she was in just then.
After another bottle and some fussing,
Izzie is back to sleep in the crib.
Mom will be back soon.
All is well.

More Nap Time

Yesterday Izzie and I shared more play time than before.  You can see her personality developing some.  She likes her little pink doll with big blue eyes.  Izzie now likes the talking dog, which also sings songs sometimes.  Last week she was overtired and sobbed when the dog talked to her.

Izzie had a big, long nap yesterday to, once again, catch up on her sleep.  She was facing the other way during 99 percent of the nap, so here is the photo for the day of some real comfy sleep...in more blankets now because the weather has changed.

Catching Up on Sleep

It seems our little sweetie hasn't been sleeping too well lately, and has been kind of cranky.  After a loud start this morning, she did a little catching up.  With four ounces of Enfamil in her tummy, a dry diaper, and a little coaxing, Izzie settled in for a 3 hour and 45 minute nap, waking up only after I gently nudged her a bit so that she'd still have some sleep left for later.

A tiny little hand, while sound asleep.

Happy and well rested, doing the Izzie wake up stretch.

Some peaceful awake time.  Usually that has been an oxymoron,
but today we both enjoyed it.

Generations

Today both new babies went to meet and visit Great Granny (or Great, Great Granny), depending on who we're talking about.  Izzie was under the weather because of having her first baby shots yesterday.  Isabella had the long drive here and had quite a nap during the visit, but came to life in time to see her little cousin (?) fretting.

More photos another day.  We're all tired now.

Poor little Izzie....just wasn't up to all the hoopla today
after having baby shots yesterday.
Hope you feel better tomorrow, sweet baby.

Today - Some Play Time!

Today we had quite a bit of play time.  Lots of smiles and talking and listening.  The worst crying was right when mom came home.  I think Izzie was hungry then.

I didn't take the stroller because it was raining and had been thundering when Izzie got dropped off this morning.  I should have.  There were a lot of times when we could have gotten a little walk in.  It feels like summer out there again...the first time we've had any humidity in a while, but not bad.

Getting ready to fret about something...probably because
her Great Gram keeps taking pictures of her nostrils!

BIG stretches after waking up from her nap.
This is a good lesson from the baby to the older folks.

Our First Walk Together

Now that autumn is here...the weather and the sky have been so beautiful...Izzie and I took our first walk together with my neighbor Lyn.  It was early in the morning (well, not too early) and about 60 degrees.  Nice sun but also puffy clouds.  A typical fall sky.

Izzie rode around the mile long course in her stroller, of course.  She slept much of the way.  It was fun and will be a nice memory for me.
So what do you think she's trying to say?

Still don't know what she's trying to say!
How can she be sleepy after sleeping her way around the block?
Must be the fresh air.

Great, Great Granny Meets Izzie

Today we had a chance to get over to meet Great Great Granny (one week short of eighty-six years old) vs. six weeks and three days old.  I think it was love at first sight!  We had a nice little visit.

I don't know why we show two pictures of Miss Giraffe and some unknown print on the post below,
but I'm not going to fight with it.

Sleepy Again

Most of Izzie's morning was spent sleeping...
even after sleeping eight hours for mom and dad last night.

Here are our photos from today.
