Changes

Izzie is so different from just two weeks ago.  She crawls all over the place now, and continues to do the yoga position where you are on all fours.  I think she thinks she can stand up any day now...NOT!

When she crawled off her blanket and was reaching out for a book, she looked up at me like she was expecting me to say "no" which I did.  She obviously has been hearing some of that at home now that she is mobile.  Smart little cookie!

We went out for our first walk of the year.  It was mid 50's but very windy, so we didn't go too far for our first time out.

Had lots of fun.  Still didn't hear any giggles, though.

Ready to roll!

This doesn't look good.

Having fun.

Biggest smile of the day was for Elmo on TV.  Oh well.

Visiting Great, Great Granny

Today Kyle, Izzie, and I braved the frigid temperatures and went to visit Granny.

We also took a trip to Carter's, armed with 20% off coupons; Izzie made out like a bandit!

Here are some photos from our visit with Granny.

I think I've been here before, but it's hard to remember.

Checking each other out.  86 years vs. 6 months.

Hanging out, holding hands.

Fun

It's fun to see all the things Izzie knows and is able to do from one week to the next.  We did a lot of mimicking each others sounds today.  And it seems like she knows how to do pat, pat, pat...on the arm of a chair or on my hand.

Izzie played energetically for about 45 minutes on the floor.  I was getting tired of setting her back up...she can't quite get from a lying down position back to sitting up on her own yet.

She also had great fun playing with Puppy and bouncing in her chair.

It was 9 degrees when Izzie came this morning, after two days of a big storm.  It got to about 27 this afternoon, with wall to wall sunshine.  Life is good!

Kinda sleep already this morning.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I'm ready for some fun now!

Why don't you come down, Great Gram?

Still won't get on the floor with me?

A Surprise Visitor

Yesterday while I was watching Izzie we had a surprise visitor...Grandma!  She had a hard time getting in, because I didn't hear the doorbell until after five rings, and when she called before hand I didn't answer the phone because I was doing something with Iz.

Izzie had lots of fun with Grandma after the first minute of warming up to her; the two of them played together on the floor for a while.  When Mom came back, there were the biggest smiles of all.

The day before Aunt Lindsey watched Izzie for a couple of hours while Mom did some shopping.  A full week with her maternal relatives.

Hanging loose with Grandma.

Smiles for Grandma.

Oh boy...the things they make me do!  (What a cupcake!)

Just chillin'.

Happy Six Months Old !

Izzie was born six months ago today. It has been such a fun six months with her.  What a sweetie.

We had a little crying today, but nothing major.  I had to take a couple of pictures of it, though, because it is the only way I get to see Izzie's new tooth.  And besides, the photos are kind of comical.  Sorry, Iz!

I'm not quite ready for napping.  Besides I am cracking Great Gram up!

A little spell after lunch, but at least I got to see Izzie's tooth for the first time.

Well, I guess I'll take it up a notch, just for the fun of it.

Back to some busy fun after lunch.

Floor Time

Izzie came for a short visit last night.  She played on the floor with FiFi and charmed us with her new skills.

With FiFi again...friends now.

Trying some swimming moves...without water.

What a Fun Day!

I haven't watched Izzie for three weeks now, and has that sweet girl changed!  As soon as she was out of her car seat, I could see how much bigger she was.  But that's not all!  We had the best time together today.  Only 2 to 3 minutes of crying.  Lots of baby conversation, both between the two of us and Izzie one on one!
So sweet and so much fun to eavesdrop on!

She had a very short nap this morning.  After lunch I got busy with a phone call and a couple of other things, and Iz just sat in her high chair amusing herself.  After her afternoon bottle I put her in the crib where she played around for about twenty minutes.  Then Aunt Lindsey came.  Then mom came.  She was still bright eyed when she left, but I'm sure she'll be ready for a snooze.

We had a wonderful time visiting by the Christmas tree this morning.  Thanks for the memories.

My eyes might look tired, but I'm too busy to nap right now.

Izzie playing with FiFi, her former nemesis.

Just hanging out with some friends on the floor for a while.
